A center with 25 air-conditioned villas for dogs has opened at a hotel in one of Turkey’s southern tourism hotspots.

The dog accommodation center, the first in a new concept by Holidogs, offers services at Rixos Premium Belek Hotel, which is located in the Belek village of Antalya.

The center is located on 1,000 square meters of land and contains 25 hygienic villas with a playground, an exclusive pool for dogs, a walking area and indoor play areas. Dogs boarded there are kept under 24-hour veterinarian supervision.

Tarkan Duman, one of the founders of the center at Rixos Premium Belek, says Holidogs next plans to invest in Spain, Greece and Egypt.

Himself the owner of a dog named Nancy, Duman said the center fills a need he has when he is on holiday. “There are hotels that accept dogs, but none of them have an exclusive accommodation area for dogs,” he said.

Beauty center for dogs

Each measuring 4 square meters, the dog villas are 1.5 meters tall and have air conditioning.

The center will also offer a beauty center for dogs to provide every kind of hairdressing and care service in the upcoming period, said Duman.

People who have dogs are obliged to leave them or cannot stay at luxury hotels, said Can Topçu, another founder of Holidogs, who added that the center solves this problem.

Hotel guests will no longer have to leave their four-legged friends at home or other places, hotel manager Derya Billur said, adding, “They can trust educated and licensed caretakers here and spend time with their dogs whenever they want.”
