Aselsan, Türkiye's largest listed company by market value, has signed a rapid series of contracts worth roughly $6.15 billion in total between Sept. 23 and Oct. 7, according to its filings on the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) as compiled by Daily Sabah.
The combined figure is made up of 5.19 billion euros in euro-denominated agreements and $352.9 million in dollar-denominated ones. Most of the work is tied to air defense, an area where the Ankara-based group is a central developer of the country's layered "Steel Dome" architecture.
The largest deals
The biggest single agreement was announced on Oct. 5: a 2.46 billion euro (about $2.75 billion) contract with the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) for hybrid air defense systems. Aselsan told KAP the deal would have a positive effect on its revenues, but it did not share a delivery schedule or a description of the systems involved. The SSB accounted for 30.6% of the company's net sales in its latest disclosed financial statements.
Earlier, on Sept. 23, Aselsan signed a 1.23 billion euro agreement with missile maker Roketsan for air defense subcomponents. On Oct. 1 it added contracts worth just over 1 billion euros with the SSB covering serial production of long-range air defense systems.
Exports in the mix
Not all of the new business is domestic. On Oct. 2, Aselsan disclosed a 488.5 million euro contract with an unnamed foreign end user for air defense system exports, without identifying the buyer. On Oct. 6, it reported further export contracts covering electronic warfare, electro-optics and seeker heads, followed on Oct. 7 by a $195 million radar systems contract with the SSB.
Chief executive Ahmet Akyol linked the wave of orders to ongoing serial production for Steel Dome and said in a social media post that the company would keep working toward a fully independent defense industry. Discussing the company's standing, he said: "In Europe, we are in the first or second place."
The contract run comes against a backdrop of strong financial growth. Daily Sabah reported that Aselsan's net income rose 50% in 2025 and more than 70% in the first half of 2026, and that its market capitalization stood at 1.71 trillion Turkish liras.
