Anadolu Efes cuts beer guidance

Anadolu Efes now expects its beer group’s sales volume to fall by a mid single-digit percentage this year, instead of the low single-digit decline it had previously forecast, Foreks, YatırımX and Ekotürk reported. The company also expects the beer group’s reported EBITDA margin to contract by 250 basis points, the three outlets said. Foreks and Ekotürk said the company pointed to weak demand in Türkiye.

Third-quarter net profit fell 35.8 percent to 4.37 billion lira from 6.81 billion lira a year earlier, according to Foreks and YatırımX. Nine-month net profit attributable to the parent company was 12.05 billion lira, down 19.8 percent, Foreks, YatırımX and CNBC-e reported. Nine-month revenue rose 2.8 percent to 251.6 billion lira, while third-quarter EBITDA fell 16.7 percent to 16.6 billion lira, with the margin narrowing to 18.7 percent, Foreks and YatırımX said.

Petkim profit, losses at Zorlu Enerji and Otokar

Petrochemicals producer Petkim posted nine-month net profit of 3.83 billion lira, compared with a loss of 6.23 billion lira a year earlier, Foreks and YatırımX reported. Nine-month revenue rose about 22 percent to 100.94 billion lira. The result was supported by a net monetary position gain of 12.57 billion lira and 6.30 billion lira of income from equity-method investments, while the company posted a third-quarter net loss of 817 million lira, the two outlets said.

Zorlu Enerji’s nine-month net loss widened to about 8.03 billion lira from 5.84 billion lira, as revenue fell to 21.37 billion lira from 31.01 billion lira, according to Foreks and YatırımX.

Bus and defence vehicle maker Otokar reported a nine-month net loss of 6.70 billion lira, against a loss of 566 million lira a year earlier, CNBC-e and Foreks reported. Its third-quarter loss was 1.95 billion lira, and nine-month revenue fell to 36.14 billion lira from 40.14 billion lira, the two outlets said.

OYAK Çimento, Kardemir and Şekerbank

OYAK Çimento’s nine-month net profit fell 44 percent to 5.3 billion lira, with revenue down 12 percent to 46.3 billion lira, CNBC-e and Ekotürk reported. Steelmaker Kardemir earned 6.58 billion lira over nine months, including 269.3 million lira in the third quarter, on revenue of 60.57 billion lira, according to CNBC-e and Ekotürk.

Şekerbank’s consolidated nine-month net profit rose 59 percent to 3.11 billion lira, and its unconsolidated profit rose 111.6 percent to 2.56 billion lira, YatırımX and Ekotürk reported. The bank’s unconsolidated total assets reached 293.4 billion lira, Borsanın Gündemi and Fintechtime said.

Turkcell buyback

Separately, Turkcell bought back 12,883,764 of its own shares on 4 November at an average price of 93.71 lira, for a total of about 1.21 billion lira, Ekotürk and Hibya news agency reported.
