The ministry shared the list of 29 ships and ports on its NSosyal social media account and invited citizens to visit them on 29 October, AA reported. The ports run from the Black Sea coast through the Sea of Marmara and the Aegean to the Mediterranean, with two in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Ships on the Aegean and Mediterranean coast

According to the MSB list carried by AA, the ships on the south-west and southern coast are TCG Köyceğiz in Yalıkavak, TCG Yıldız in Bodrum, TCG 1. İnönü in Marmaris, TCG Kaş in Fethiye, TCG Meltem in Kaş, TCG Bora in Antalya, TCG Atak in Alanya, TCG Karpaz in Anamur and TCG Tarsus in Mersin.

On the Aegean, ships were listed for Foça (TCG Kalkan), İzmir (TCG Büyükada), Karşıyaka (TCG Karşıyaka), Çeşme (TCG Heybeliada), Kuşadası (TCG Ç-160) and Didim (TCG Karayel). In Northern Cyprus, TCG Zıpkın was listed for Gazimağusa (Famagusta) and TCG Bandırma for Girne (Kyrenia).

In Muğla province, AA reported that the Gür-class submarine TCG 1. İnönü was berthed at the large pier of Marmaris Cruise Port, the Tuzla-class patrol ship TCG Kaş at Fethiye port, and the Yıldız-class fast attack craft TCG Yıldız at Bodrum Marina. Coast Guard boats were also open to visitors in the three districts: TCSG-310 at the Marmaris marina, TCSG-911 at the Fethiye municipal pier and TCSG-106 at Bodrum Marina. The vessels in Muğla could be visited until 17:00, AA said.

Istanbul, Marmara and the Black Sea

In Istanbul, the frigate TCG Kemalreis was anchored off Dolmabahçe Palace, Demirören News Agency (DHA) reported. Visitors were taken out to the ship by boat from in front of the Naval Museum in Beşiktaş, according to DHA.

The other ports on the MSB list were Rize (TCG İstanbul), Sürmene (TCG Kilimli), Karadeniz Ereğli (TCG Doğanay), İğneada (TCG Anamur), İzmit (TCG Mızrak), Mudanya (TCG Akçay), Erdek (TCG Enez), Tekirdağ (TCG Işın), Çanakkale (TCG Gurbet), Gökçeada (TCG Türkeli) and Bozcaada (TCG Karabiga).

The MSB announcement as reported by AA did not give visiting hours for every port, so visitors elsewhere should check local announcements before going. For more on one of the host towns, see our Marmaris and İçmeler living guide.
