The Antalya leg of the Türkiye Culture Route Festival (Kültür Yolu Festivali) opened on Saturday with more than 440 events planned at over 40 venues across nine days, the İhlas News Agency (İHA) and the Demirören News Agency (DHA) reported. Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy attended the opening with Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin.
Concerts, opera and 85 food stops
The festival’s main stage is at Konyaaltı Beach Park, where announced performers include Simge, Poizi, Sefo, Gökhan Türkmen, Ebru Yaşar, Demet Akalın and Hakan Altun. The stage programme also includes the opera Attila and ballet productions of Anna Karenina and Carmina Burana, according to the reports.
Exhibitions include a display of Ottoman sacred relics (Mukaddes Emanetler), "Living Heritage Antalya" (Yaşayan Miras Antalya) and "Three Painters" (Üç Ressam), drawn from the Mustafa Taviloğlu collection. A gastronomy programme hosted by chef Mehmet Akdağ features 85 food stops, with routes reaching districts including Manavgat and Alanya.
32 provinces next year
Ersoy said the festival had been held in 26 provinces this year and would reach 32 next year, repeating the government’s goal of spreading tourism across 12 months and all 81 provinces.
He also said that after COP31, the UN climate conference to be held in Antalya from 9 to 20 November, the city’s Expo site would be turned into one of Türkiye’s largest fair, congress and event centres.
