Türkiye’s revaluation rate for 2027 has been calculated at 27.83%, setting the expected increase in a wide range of fixed fees, fines and tax thresholds from 1 January 2027, Bloomberg HT, Sözcü, Memurlar.net, Forbes Türkiye and the ANKA news agency reported on Tuesday, 3 November.

The revaluation rate (yeniden değerleme oranı) is set under the Tax Procedure Law (VUK) and is based on the 12-month average change in the domestic producer price index (Yİ-ÜFE), published by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) alongside the October inflation figures, Memurlar.net, ANKA and GZT reported. The rate for 2026 was 25.49%, the outlets said.

Expected 2027 fees

The amounts below are calculations published by the outlets by applying the 27.83% rate to current fees; they are not yet official.

– **Passport fees:** a 10-year passport is expected to cost 17,142 lira, a one-year passport 5,245 lira and a six-month passport 3,587 lira, Bloomberg HT, Sözcü and GZT reported. – **Exit fee:** the fee Turkish residents pay when travelling abroad (yurt dışı çıkış harcı) is expected to rise from 1,250 lira to about 1,598 lira, Sözcü and GZT reported, a figure also given by Bloomberg HT and Memurlar.net. – **Phone registration (IMEI) fee:** the fee to register a mobile phone brought from abroad is expected to rise from 54,258 lira to 69,358 lira, Sözcü, GZT and Memurlar.net reported. – **Rental income exemption:** the annual exemption for residential rental income is calculated at 74,141 lira, Memurlar.net and GZT reported. Landlords can read more in our rental income tax guide. – **Traffic fines:** the fine for using a mobile phone while driving is expected to rise from 5,000 lira to 6,392 lira, Bloomberg HT and Sözcü reported.

Property tax (emlak vergisi), the environmental cleaning tax and motor vehicle tax (MTV) are also among the items linked to the revaluation rate, ANKA and Memurlar.net reported.

Final amounts not yet set

The President has the authority to raise or lower the rate by up to 50% for taxes and fees, so final amounts may differ from these calculations, Sözcü, GZT, ANKA and Memurlar.net reported. According to Sözcü and ANKA, administrative fines such as traffic fines are not covered by that discretion.

The rate becomes official when the Ministry of Treasury and Finance publishes a VUK General Communiqué in the Official Gazette (Resmi Gazete), Forbes Türkiye and Istanbul Ticaret Gazetesi reported.
