Several roads in Antalya’s Serik district, including the main routes around Kadriye, Belek and Kundu, are closed or restricted to traffic on Sunday for the cycling leg of the IRONMAN Türkiye race, according to a statement from the Antalya Provincial Police Directorate reported by local outlets Lider Gazete, Akdeniz Manşet and Antalya Gündem.
About 2,000 athletes from 80 countries are expected to take part in the event, the reports said.
Closures and times
According to the police statement, the west lane of the road between Kadriye Beach and Dikmen Cemetery is closed to traffic from 08:00 to 18:00 on Sunday, 1 November. The road between Kadriye and the Titanic Junction is closed to vehicles from 08:00 to 15:00, while traffic on the Kundu–Belek Road and Expo Boulevard is restricted from 08:00 to 14:30.
Roads in the Kundu direction are planned to reopen fully at 16:00, the reports said.
Alternative route to Belek and Boğazkent
The Turizm Yolu (Tourism Road) east of the Kadriye Junction will remain open throughout the race, and drivers heading to Belek or Boğazkent have been asked to use it. The police urged motorists to choose alternative routes to avoid delays and to follow the instructions of traffic officers on duty along the course.
