Residents and visitors in many parts of Antalya province should expect daytime power cuts between Sunday 25 and Tuesday 27 October, as the regional distribution company carries out maintenance and network investment work, according to a schedule published by the local news site Akdeniz Gerçek.
The outages are planned by Akdeniz Elektrik Dağıtım (AEDAŞ), the company that runs the low- and medium-voltage grid in the province. Most cuts last from around 09:00 to 16:00 or 17:00, although some are shorter, two-to-three-hour windows. The schedule lists work in districts across the province, from the coast to the inland towns of Korkuteli, Elmalı and Döşemealtı. The report said the city-centre districts of Muratpaşa and Kemer had no planned outages of their own, though some streets in Muratpaşa’s Güzeloba area are affected by work in neighbouring Aksu.
Coastal areas popular with foreigners
Sunday’s list is short and is concentrated in the west of the province: parts of Kumluca, including Adrasan and the Mavikent holiday-home area, Finike, Demre’s Gökyazı neighbourhood and Çavdır in Kaş.
Monday 26 October brings the widest disruption. In Alanya, the schedule includes streets in Mahmutlar (several short windows between 09:45 and 15:00), Konaklı (09:00-12:00), Çıplaklı and Çamlıca, as well as a string of highland villages. In Manavgat, streets in Sorgun and Side are listed from 09:00 to 16:00. In Serik’s Belek and Kadriye resort area, cuts are spread across three windows between 09:00 and 17:00. Konyaaltı’s Doyran and Aşağıkaraman areas, parts of Kepez, Kaş’s Gökçeören and Ahatlı, and Demre’s Kaleüçağız and Küçükkum are also on the list.
On Tuesday 27 October, work moves to Alanya’s Oba and Tosmur neighbourhoods (09:00-12:00), with Çıplaklı and Çamlıca again listed for the full day. Further cuts are planned in central and rural Manavgat, Kepez’s Altınova and Fevzi Çakmak areas, Güzeloba on the Aksu-Muratpaşa border, several Serik villages and Kaş’s Kocagöl and İslamlar.
What to do
Planned outages in Türkiye are announced street by street, and the exact list can change at short notice, so anyone affected should check the planned-outage page on the AEDAŞ website or call the company before relying on these times. Holiday-home owners who are away may want to ask a neighbour or manager to check freezers, pool pumps and security systems after the power returns.
The work comes as Antalya prepares to host the COP31 climate summit in November and continues to draw large numbers of foreign visitors.
