Total reserves stood at $158.107 billion, down from $162.191 billion a week earlier, AA reported. Döviz.com put the weekly fall at 2.5 per cent.

Gold reserves also lower

Gold reserves, which make up the larger part of the total, fell to $102.017 billion from $103.146 billion the previous week, according to AA. Döviz.com reported the same figure, about $102 billion, and a weekly decline of 1.1 per cent.

Three weeks of losses in October

The latest figure follows declines in the weeks to 16 and 23 October, when reserves stood at $169.1 billion and $162.2 billion respectively, Döviz.com and Cumhuriyet reported. The week to 9 October had brought a rise of $4.2 billion, according to both outlets.

Reserves are now well below this year’s peak of $218.2 billion, reached in the week of 30 January, Döviz.com and Cumhuriyet reported, a gap of about $60 billion. The lowest level of 2026 so far was $149.2 billion in the week of 26 June, the same outlets said.
